Job hunting

Hello my dear few readers!
Hope you are having nice weekend!

I haven't been feeling well recently and I decided to stop using social websites for a while, but not the Blogger. I needed a break from many things so I could find just a little bit of peace inside myself. Sometimes I feel like life is just too busy and recently I have been having days where I felt I just couldn't cope much longer. I am trying to have some rest now and I am not on the Internet much at the moment. I am also looking forward to my holiday week off with my boyfriend soon!

One of the things I would really like to change right now is my current job. I went job hunting last Monday and off course I decided to wear Lolita. I wear Lolita almost every day off I have and my current wardrobe consists 90% of Lolita clothes, so I didn't have much choice anyway. Either Lolita or Mori, which is not as elegant for job hunting! :D Plus your potential employers will more likely remember you if you wear something different that anyone else, right? Or maybe I'm just a bit crazy and I don't really bother what people think...?

I totally fell in love with little hats and berets, and I started making flower corsages for them. I made so many for myself and I really want to make some more, it's so addictive! :D

I recently gbought large table for my crafting room and now I have no excuse not to sew or craft! I already ordered nice fabric from ShabbyFabrics and lots of lace from Taobao. I hope that I will feel better soon and I will be able to start making dresses, as I have so many ideas in my head!

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Till next time

Love is in the air!

Hello lovelies!

Today has been mine and my boyfriend's anniversary. We have been together one year!
I met him two years ago at my first Lolita meet in Bristol and I knew I liked him from the first time I saw him :3 But I had a boyfriend at that time and he got into a relationship later so it wasn't a time for us, but luckily for me we started going out a year ago and I'm telling you, I haven't been this happy with anyone before! It feels like we are just meant for each other :)
He was our official photographer at the meet and he started creeping out on me, asking about my camera!
He was so cute and I was mega shy as it was my first meet! :3
This is one of my first photos in Lolita
(taken by my lovely boyfriend!)
I was wearing my handmade dress and I didn't know how to style my hair! :D
Yeah, getting a fringe has totally changed my Lolita image......
And here is me fooling around with my sweetheart! :3

Almost exactly year ago, we went on our first date and this year we decided to go to the same restaurant we went first time. I didn't take any photos because I just wanted to enjoy our time together :) We also met the same waiter who served us before, and he even recognised us! I bet we looked so awkward year ago :P
I decided to wear the same dress I worn on our first date, just with different accessories,
also because my boyfriend likes me in darker Lolita :3

Musee du Chocolate!

It arrived! It's here! My Musee du Chocolate is here!
It finally arrived today, after paying stupidly large customs charge! Damn you UK customs! *waves fist angrily* I ordered simple JSK version and matching bonnet and dark tights.

I am not going to make a proper review but I will just say what I think about this dress. I order it,I decided to get it and I am not disappointed. I am glad that I chose the brown colour although it was a tough choice as I liked all of them, especially ivory. To be honest I really wanted to get the princess sleeve OP but it wasn't available online. I hope I will get it in the future via Japanese auction sites! Fingers crossed!

The dress is simple in it's design and I like it as the print itself creates the whole wow look in my opinion. I also like the little things like the gold frills, although I personally would prefer to have them in dark brown not gold.
Just like all Angelic Pretty dresses, this dress doesn't have back lacing only shirring. The fabric is nice and thick although not as heavy as the Chocolate Rosette.

There are also some things I don't like about this dress. First, the extra petticoat layer underneath. I don't own many AP dresses, but I think they add it to every dress. In my opinion it makes the dress a bit tacky.... Secondly, the whole design of two bow brooches wasn't thought through by AP. The ribbons are way too big to hold shape so they kind of hang down looking sad.... Also they are not symmetric and the longer bit is on the top of the shorter one and it's just not possible to make it look like a proper bow ribbon. I think I will either redo it and sew it again to make it look properly, or just make a new one by myself. Dunno yet....

Overall I do like this dress and I will keep it for a very long time, maybe forever. I also would like to get a different colour in the future, if my finances will allow me to. I will be ordering ivory tight too as I want to coordinate this dress in brighter way. And I already have so many ideas for head wear for it! Can't wait to start crafting! Now I will stop rambling and I will leave you with the photos below. Please forgive me the darkness, I was taking photos late evening so the colours might not match the reality of this dress.

And here is a quick coord of the Musee du Chocolate

Frock On! Day two: Sunday Tea Party

Hello my lovelies!

Today I would like to write about the second day of Frock On!, the tea party which was held on Sunday at the Rubens Hotel in London. The room we have booked was amazing, with mirrors on walls and gold decorations! We had a tea with sandwiches and petite desserts, and after that Kyra and Michaela raffled plenty of prizes. I wasn't lucky enough to win anything but I still had a great time! We also had more opportunities to take better photos with each other as the day was much more relaxed. Please enjoy the photos below and my short and very unprofessional video! I was a bit clumsy and hopefully I will have better one next time!

Desserts were so good that they disappeared very quickly as you can see! :D

I had a chance to take photo with Coco! I look so tiny next to her! XD

Please enjoy small selection of photos of lovely Lolitas and their beautiful coordinates from this day.

Frock On! Day One

Hello my lovelies!

It's Thursday and it's only today I finally recovered from last weekend's Lolita event, Frock On!
Yes, it took me so long because I needed a lot of sleep, especially that I had to come back to work on Tuesday....
So lets start from the beginning! Me and my friend Maria arrived in London early afternoon on Friday and got ourselves comfortable in a lovely little apartment, just round the corner of the Charring Cross train station. The first day of the Frock On was being held at the One Whitehall Place and gosh, it was such an amazing place! I thought last years Juliette et Justine Tea Party event was great, but this years location has exceed all of my expectations!
We had four large rooms reserved for the whole event. One for fashion show, one for bring & buy stalls, one for shopping area with stalls from fashion brands and lastly a room with photo booth.
The main attraction from the Saturday were two fashion shows, with major brands like Juliette et Justine, Atelier Pierrot, Lief and Haenuli, and also many well known indie designers like Snowfield, Chérie Cerise or the Flowers Shop.

There were also other attractions like Michaela's Fashion Fix, similar to Gok Wan's show, where the audience was voting for either brand or off brand coord. I was one of the lucky models taking part in this show! It was second time when I had chance to do some unprofessional modelling in Lolita and I was still a bit nervous! I hope I will have opportunity to do something like this again in the future as it really makes you believe in yourself more!

Other attractions during Saturday event were School of Frocks, where we could learn the tricks and tips on how to buy from Taobao, hair and wig styling tutorials made by Amelie from Spicy Days blog, posing tutorials where famous Chokelate from Lokshop was showing us do's and don't's of perfect Lolita posing. I learnt so much from it! She also showed us on to one, our "better" face side (so we knew which side to turn for nice photos) and gave us personal tips how to pose for photo shoots. It was really helpful as I think I always had many issues with posing and I learnt a lot from Coco.

There was also a quick tutorial show on how to properly tie a waist bow. Yes I know it might sound easy to most of you, but I only then discovered I was doing it so wrong! I still need to practise new way! It looks so easy yet my brain can't get used to it yet! Here is a quick video for any of you who would like to master this secret technique..... :)

I also made a custom hat for one of my friends. It was ssupposed to be a replica of a cake from Angelic Pretty "Memorial Cake" JSK. I was so glad I could do it for her as it was first time since forever I used modelling paste from my deco sweets! I'm hoping to get back into clay sweets, maybe start doing something for classic Lolitas?

My coord from Saturday:

Handbag: Handmade

I didn't have any nice handbag that would go well with my "royal" style coord. I really want to have matching cat bag from Juliette et Justine but it's so diffcult to find one! Therefore I had to go crazy and creative and I quickly made a bag that would match my dress. I found beautiful cat paintings online and I added them onto my bag and here are the results!

And some quick funny photos from photo booth!

I have finally met Valerie from Riechan blog! :D

I hope you enjoyed this post! I will be posting soon about second day of Frock On so please stay tuned and thank you for visiting my blog!
